August 12, 2024
Edwardsville, IL – The St. Louis Metro East is about to get a whole new swing at fun! Park North Golf Complex, LLC, consisting of a group of local investors, led by managing partners, Bob Timmermann, Dave Arvola, Scott Plocher, Jonathan Fowler and Paul Wellhausen invites the public to the groundbreaking ceremony for their multi-venue, golf-themed entertainment complex, Park North Golf Club. Scheduled for a groundbreaking on August 19th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., the Club is located near Edwardsville’s Plummer Family Park at the southwest corner of Interstate 55 and Illinois 143. The new sports and entertainment destination will feature a 40-bay driving range, an outdoor 18-hole championship mini-golf course, a restaurant and sports bar, large outdoor patios, and seating, flexible entertainment venues, and fully catered rental event spaces.
“The growth and popularity of Edwardsville is undeniable, as is the St. Louis area’s passion for sports, food, and entertainment,” said Bob Timmermann, Managing Partner. “The concept of the Club is to provide an affordable, local, family-friendly, golf-inspired destination. We’re creating a unique and exciting place to go, with new jobs, resources for play, and training themed around the game of golf.”
At the entry to the complex is the centerpiece of the Golf Club, "The Links," an outdoor 18-hole championship mini-golf course inspired by a championship golf course. Fun for all, this is no ordinary putt-putt course; it offers a family-fun yet competitive challenge.
“Scotty’s,” the complex’s restaurant and sports bar, named for the storied Scottish origins of the sport and local Executive Chef Scott Oglesby, will feature a locally inspired menu, local brews and cocktails, plenty of indoor seating, and a large outdoor full-service patio with views of the complex.
“The Bays,” the aptly named driving range, consists of 40 state-of-the-art, climate-controlled bays for year-round play. Each offers space for 1-6 players, a full-service menu, Track Man ball tracking and game-play technology, and multiple high-definition video display systems, all available to players of any level.
Additionally, the complex features flexible entertainment venues where local and regional musicians will perform, as well as fully catered rental and event spaces for private parties, fundraising events, weddings, or business meetings.
The first of many new developments in the 95-acre Park North complex, Park North Golf Club, will serve as anchor destination for the local metro St. Louis community and sport and family-focused tourists alike. As part of the development, Sports Park Drive, which enters Plummer from Goshen Road now, will be extended through Park North to a new intersection at Illinois 143, eliminating the need for Interstate 55 traffic to circle on Ridge View and Goshen roads.
The nearly 28,000 sq/ft, 12-acre complex, scheduled for completion by Summer of 2025 was designed by local architect, Lance McOlgan, and will be constructed by local construction company, Plocher Construction. The complex is expected to employ 75-100 area workers and will offer exceptional training opportunities for local area sports programs.
Park North Golf Club’s groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for August 19th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
